Obituary of Don G. Johnson

Don G. Johnson, the son of Howard Johnson and Idella (Hennix) Johnson, was born September 26, 1940 at Kenmare, North Dakota and passed away on December 18, 2014 at Narka, KS at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 22 days.
Don grew up in Kenmare, ND where he attended the local public schools.
Don worked in Kenmare, Bottineau and Minot area, working for the Mon Dak Chemical for several years and the Minot, ND Public School system as a custodian for 13 years.
On May 20, 1972, he was united in marriage to Karen Ziebarth Novak. They moved to Narka, KS in 1987 where he later worked as City Maintenance Man, and later started Karens Shoppe in Narka, selling toys, novelties, and gifts. The couple they traveled from Texas to North Dakota for 25 years, working with carnivals, city celebrations, and craft shows.
For nearly 5 years, hosted Gospel singing groups at the Zion Evangelical Church at Munden, along with parties and celebrations at their home for many years. Don enjoyed playing Santa Claus for Narka and the surrounding area.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Idella Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Karen Johnson of Narka, KS; one sister Delvina (Dale) Parkinson of Arlington, WA, two granddaughters: Tiffany College of Wilmington, NC and Tosha College of Minot, ND; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation was selected and memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Presbyterian Church, Narka, KS with Pastor Phil Goombi, officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Tabor Cemetery, rural Munden, KS.
The family will greet friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Monday, Dec. 29th at the Presbyterian Church, Narka, KS, where friends may sign the register book. There will no visitation at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to family choice.
