Obituary of Donna J. Eickman

Donna Joan Eickman, the daughter of Elton L. Scofield and Hazel (White)
Scofield, was born April 3, 1932 in rural Republic County and passed away on
September 11, 2012 at Republic County-Long Term Care- Belleville, KS at the age
of 80 years, 5 months, and 8 days.
Donna attended the local Belleville Schools, graduated from Belleville High School in 1950. On October 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Neal J. Eickman and to this union was born: Mark, Nancy, Betsy, and John.
They made their home on the Eickman family farm where Donna was an active farm wife and assisted with the Eickman Farm operation. They moved to Chester in 1984 continued farming, moving later to Belleville in 1997.
Donna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chester and Belleville and was active in the ladies’ circle and U.M.W. She was a charter member of the Excelsior F.C.E., and held offices in Eastern Star. Donna was always active in volunteer work in Chester through the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark Eickman, her husband
Neal Eickman in 2008, a sister Marjorie Woodman and a brother Roger Scofield.
Donna is survived by two daughters: Betsy Evert and husband Randy of Belleville, KS and Nancy Richards of Lincoln, NE; one son John Eickman and wife Kandy of Chester, NE; 11 grandchildren: Joanna Eitzmann, Ben Eickman, Jessica Ehlers, Katie McGill, Shelby Hergott, Clayton Hergott, Krystal Lantz, Lynsey Hergott, Kasey Eickman, Heidi Easton, and Jason Eickman; 7 great grandchildren:
Avery, Henry, Addison, MacKenzie, Emily, Ella and Olivia; 2 step grandchildren: Holle Kniep and Heidi Nordstrom; five step great grandchildren: Paige, Kara, Bryn, Ava, and Nina; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 14, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS with Pastor Emily Meckley, officiating.
Cremation has taken place and family inurnment services will be held at the
Chester Cemetery, Chester, NE at a later time.
Friends may call to register from 1PM until 9PM on Thursday at the funeral home with the family greeting friends from 7PM until 8 PM.
Memorials are suggested to the Belleville or Chester United Methodist Church or the Belleville Public Library.
