Dorothea P. Benyshek

Dorothea Pauline (Cibolski) Benyshek, passed from this life on the morning of Thanksgiving, November 27th, 2014. She spent her last days at Republic County Long Term Care, Belleville Ks, surrounded by her loving family who cherished those precious last days to the fullest. Dorothea, daughter of Bernard Cibolski and Clara Nordquist Cibolski, came into this world on March 26, 1924, near Agenda, KS. Dorothea’s family and loved ones were blessed to have had her loving presence in their lives, for 90 years, 8 months and 2 days.

As a child, Dorothea attended the Kansas rural public school Turkey Creek, eventually graduating from Agenda Rural High School. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Benyshek On May 10th, 1942. Before her new husband Lawrence Benyshek, left to serve during World War II, Dorothea and Lawrence created many fond memories of the states they visited before his departure overseas and her subsequent trip on a train from New York by herself to return to Agenda KS. Dorothea remained in Agenda Ks with her parents for several years awaiting the return of her husband. For many years after the end of the war, Dorothea and Lawrence enjoyed attending army buddy reunions throughout the years together. To this union were born two sons; Larry and Terry. Lawrence and Dorothea made their home near Cuba, KS where they farmed for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Benyshek, parents Bernard and Clara Cibolski, brother, Don Cibolski and his wife Lila.

Dorothea is survived by her son Larry Benyshek and his wife Isabella of Belleville, KS, son Terry Benyshek and wife Connie of Narka, KS, Granddaughters; Tasha Benyshek, of Asheville, NC, Tera Hiebert and husband Jessey of Hillsboro, KS, grandsons; James Benyshek of Athens, GA, Terry L. Benyshek and wife Tosha of Agenda, KS, Tim Benyshek and wife Tia of Oskaloosa KS, step-grandchildren; Nathan Noonan of Houston, TX, Pahri Hafez of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mahrjon Hafez of Belleville, KS, Great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Aaron, and Nevan Benyshek, and Pyper Hiebert; two step great grandchildren; Chase and Connor Fairbanks. She also precedes numerous other loved relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at St. Isidores Catholic Church, Cuba, KS with Father Brian Lager, celebrant.

Interment will be at the National Bohemian (Kopsa) Cemetery, rural Cuba KS

The family respectfully requests memorials in lieu of flowers to St. Isidores Altar Society and the Cuba Booster Club.

Visitation will be from 1PM until 9 PM on Tuesday and 9AM until 9 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

A vigil/rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home.
