Obituary of Frank J. Bartak

     Frank J. Bartak, son of Frank Bartak Sr. and Marie (Caslava) Bartak, was born
March 21, 1917 on a farm near Tabor in Republic County, Kansas and passed away
on November 28, 2011 in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 7 days.
     He was united in marriage to Neva Mae Chopp on August 8, 1945 and to this union four children were born, Marilyn, Paul, Gary and Kathryn.
     Frank farmed and worked for Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home, until his retirement.
     He was a member of, St. Edward’s  Catholic Church, Belleville, Ks.,  the Knights of Columbus, served as a board member of the Golden Bell Haven, and served as treasurer of the Republic County Czech Club for many years.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie Bartak, wife, Neva M. Bartak,  brothers, Stanley, Elmer, Frank and Edward and his sisters, Christi Popelka, Cecilia Chermak and Mary Heyka.
     He is survived by daughter, Marilyn Sullivan and her husband Terry of Carrollton, Texas, son, Paul Bartak and his wife Teresa of Overland Park, Kansas, son, Gary Bartak and his wife Sara of Wichita, Kansas, and daughter, Kathryn Yates and her husband Phil of Rockwall, Texas, grandchildren, Ashley Sullivan Orr and her husband Reece, Kimberly and Amy Bartak, Luke, Mark and John Bartak, Allyson and Katie Yates, step grandchildren, Scott Yates and wife Kaycie and Jeff Yates and wife Amy, great grandson, Dylan Orr, step great grandchildren, Melissa, Erynn, Connor, Pierce, Anna and Tia Yates, sister, Anne Wiruth, and numerous other relatives and many friends.
     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Belleville, Kansas,  conducted by  Father Joe Popelka, Father Barry Brinkman and Father Steve Heina.   A  Rosary/Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home.
     Interment will be made in St. George’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Munden, Kansas.
     Memorials may be given to St. Edward’s Catholic Church or St. George’s Catholic Cemetery fund.
     Visitation:  Friends may call Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Ks.
