Obituary of Francis (Frank) J. Barth

Francis John Barth, son of Nicholas Barth and Mary( Emmerich )Barth was born April 1, 1921 at Salina, Kansas and passed away on October 6, 2012 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Kansas at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 5 days.
Frank served with the U.S. Army during World War Two. He was united in marriage to Irene Baxa on June 5, 1950 and to this union four children were born, James, Jeff, Anne, Eric. He owned and operated Barth Appliance Center in Belleville, Kansas from 1948 to 1992.
He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Belleville, Kansas and was active in the Parish Council for several years. He also worked with the Boy Scouts for several years, assisting in campouts, fundraisers and other activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Mary Barth, wife, Irene Barth, one brother, Joe, two sisters, Louise, Mary, two half sisters, Agnes, Lottie.
He is survived by three sons, James Barth and his wife malia of Georgetown, Texas, Jeff Barth of San Jose, California, Dr. Eric Barth and his wife Deb of Kalamazoo, Michigan, one daughter, Anne Barth of Kansas City Kansas, eight grandchildren, Erin, Kay, Christina, Nicholas, Joseph, Thomas, Abraham,Jefferson, two great grandchildren, Gavin and Skye, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Ten AM, Saturday, October 13, 2012, St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Belleville, Kansas, conducted by, Father Barry Brinkman.
Vigil/Rosary service will be held 7:30 PM Friday evening at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel.
Interment will be made at St. Katherine’s Cemetery, rural Belleville, Ks.
Friends may call 9 AM to 9 PM on Friday at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home.
