Obituary of Freddie D. Cornelius

Freddie Duaine Cornelius, the son of Fred Earl Cornelius and Viola May (Cooley) Cornelius, was born February 29, 1956 in Mansfield, Missouri and passed away on January 5, 2018 at the Belleville Health Care Center, at the age of 61 years, 10 months, and 6 days.
Freddie grew up and attended schools in Ava, Missouri, later moving with his family to Golden, Colorado where he graduated from high school. He was involved in the restaurant business for many years, working as a short order cook at the Village Inn in Ava, Missouri for several years. Freddie moved to Milville, Georgia where he worked for Wal-Mart for 20 years. He returned to Belleville, KS to be near family in August of 2017.
Freddie enjoyed singing gospel and performing in Church, coming from a musical family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Viola May Cornelius.
Freddie is survived by his daughter Amanda Lynn Cornelius of Belleville, KS, and two grandsons, Tyler James Sommer and Kameron Graceson Lee Sommer; and his brothers and sisters: Brenda (Greg) Vacca of Littleton, CO, Vicky (Greg) Westervelt of Aurora, CO, Daniel (Valerie) Cornelius of Durango, CO, Randall (Lori Ann) Myers of Kansas City, MO, David (MiRani) Myers of Harvest, AL, Jay Cornelius of Springfield, MO, Jodi Cornelius of Tenaha, TX, Calvin (Megan) Cornelius of Cabool, MO, and Christopher Cornelius of Milville, GA; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Cremation was selected and memorial services and inurnment will be held at a later date with inurnment at Belleville Cemetery.
