Obituary of Gwendolyn F. Walter

Gwendolyn F. Walter, daughter of Harold Stafford and Florence (Leeding) Stafford was born October 20, 1917 at Rural Republic, Kansas and passed away on October 9, 2015 at Republic County Long Term Care, Belleville, Kansas at the age of 97 years, 11 months and 19 days.
She graduated from Republic High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph V. Walter on July 29, 1939 and to this union three sons were born, Gary, Richard and Darrell.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS., United Methodist Women, Stardust Study Club and WWW Club.
Gwen worked as a receptionist and assistant for the dentist, Dr. Lowell in Belleville for 17 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Florence Stafford, husband, Ralph V. Walter, four sisters, Marjorie, Rosalyn, Ruby, Betty, one brother, Dale Stafford.
She is survived by three sons, Gary (Maxine) Walter of Erskine, Minnesota, Richard (Peggy) Walter of Belleville, Kansas, Darrell (Zoila) Walter of Brandon, Florida, eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, one sister in law, Marjorie Stafford of Rural Scandia, Kansas, other relatives and many friends.
Gwen will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother and faithful friend.
Funeral services will be held, One Thirty PM, Friday, October 30, 2015, First United Methodist Church, Belleville, Kansas, conducted by, Rev. Emily Meckley.
Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, or Family Choice.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 1 PM to 9 PM, Thursday from 9 AM to 9 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.
