Obituary of: Harold E. Brown



Harold Eugene Brown was born April 27, 1930 at Smith Center, KS to Clifford V. and Zetta M. (Fisher) Brown and passed away on April 23, 2015 at Rolling Hills Health Care, Topeka, KS at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 28 days.
He attended public grade schools at Scandia, Wichita (Plainview), and Rural Mercer School in southern Republic County. He attended Concordia High School, graduating from Scandia High School in 1950.
On August 27, 1950, Harold was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Betty) A. Henderson at Belleville, KS and to this union was born five sons.
Harold and Betty lived in the communities of Belleville, Scandia, Haviland, Kinsley, Burr Oak, and Courtland, KS during their years of marriage.
Harold was a retired service station owner and attendant in Kinsley, KS. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and attended the United Methodist Church, Courtland, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Clifford; four brothers: Arlie, Bob, Glenn and Jim; and one sister Violet.
Harold is survived by his wife Betty of Courtland, KS; four sons, Doug Brown of Texas, Sam Brown of Courtland, KS, Scott (Pam) Brown of Bismarck, ND, and Dale (Debbie) Brown of Great Bend, KS; one sister, Delores Freed of Wichita, KS; 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be from One PM until Nine PM Wednesday, April 29th, and 9AM until 9PM Thursday, April 30th, at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS
Funeral services in Topeka, KS will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2015 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1001 Southwest Buchanan St.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Courtland, KS with Pastor Kathy Aeillo, officiating.
Interment will be at the Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, KS
Memorials: United Methodist Church-Courtland or Fisher-Brown Family Scholarship Fund at Mid America Nazarene University, Olathe, KS.
