Obituary of Jack M. Mahan


Jack M. Mahan, son of John A. Mahan and Idonia (Wheatly) Mahan was born November 15, 1924 at rural Scandia, KS. and went home to be with Christ Jesus on March 27, 2012 at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 12 days.
Jack received his education in the public schools. At age 18 he entered into the U.S. Army and served in World War Two. He was critically injured in September 1944 when a mortar shell exploded four feet in front of him and he was in Dibble General Hospital in Menlo Park, California for over three years . When he came back home he assisted his father in farming. He met Donna Jean Duncan and they were united in marriage and to this union three children were born, Jack Arthur, Harold Eugene, Michelle. His son Jack Arthur passed away in 1977 and three months later his wife Donna Jean passed away and Jack raised Harold Eugene and Michelle by himself.
In 1996 he met Audrey (Terri) Mahan and they were united in marriage on November 17, 1996. Jack and Terri renewed there wedding vows on November 16, 2006. They were a very happy couple, they loved being together and enjoyed going to church together. Terri will miss him so much but he is with Jesus now and I know very happy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Idonia Mahan, first wife, Donna Jean Mahan, one son, Jack Arthur Mahan, one brother, Harold Mahan.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey (Terri) Mahan of Belleville, KS., one son, Harold Eugene Mahan and his wife Dawn of Rochester, Minnesota, one daughter, Michelle Garvin and her husband Brad of Franklin, Nebraska, four grandchildren, one sister, Evelyn Hanel and her husband Lavern of Belleville, KS., other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Ten Thirty AM, Monday, April 2, 2012, Central Christian Church, Belleville, KS., conducted by, Pastor Mark Imel.
Interment will be made in Union Valley Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS.
Military Graveside Services by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Memorials may be given to Central Christian Church, Belleville, KS.
