Obituary of Joyce R. White


Joyce Ranae White, the daughter of Gene Barton and Penny (Melvin) Barton, was born September 23, 1966 at Belleville, KS and passed away on October 6, 2012 at her home at Belleville at the age of 46 years, and 13 days.
Joyce grew up in Belleville, attending the local schools and graduating from Belleville High School in 1985. She then attended The Hair Academy in Salina, KS where she received a cosmetology degree. Joyce returned to Belleville where she managed the Shop Quick for three years, and then set up and managed the Pump & Shop in Glen Elder, KS for three years. She then accepted employment at Food Mart in Belleville where she worked for 5 years and was still working at the time of her death. Joyce was also a homemaker and Army Wife.
On February 17, 1989, she was united in marriage to John White. The couple has made their home in Belleville for many years.
She was a member of the American Cancer Society being active in activities helping the organization including the Relay For Life. Joyce also was a member of the Belleville Bowling League for many years.
Joyce was preceded in death by Grandpa Mike Tamerius, Grandma and Grandma White, Grandma Nanner and Slim, Uncle Bill Waln, and her puppies:
Shoebox and Boozer.
Joyce is survived by her husband John White of Belleville, KS; her parents
Gene and Penny Barton of Cawker City, KS; five daughters: Jazmen (John) White of Concordia, KS. , Jessica Ellen (Kevin) Dahl of Superior, NE, Jessica Lynn ( Justin)
Weathersbee of Concordia, KS, Shayna (Robbie) Bretz of Junction City, KS and Bailey White of Belleville, KS; seven grandchildren; one sister Lorna Lindsey of Scandia, KS, Uncle Mike Melvin of Lincoln, NE other relatives, many friends, and her puppy: Lilly.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Central Christian Church, Belleville, KS with Pastor Mark Imel, officiating.
Cremation will follow the services and family inurnment will be held at a
later date.
Visitation will be from 1PM-9PM on Monday and from 9AM-9PM on Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6PM-8PM on Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
