Obituary of Lucille F. Russell

     Lucille F. Russell, daughter of Fred G. Mumm and Minnie I. (Howard) Mumm was born on December 19, 1913 at rural Narka, Kansas and passed away  on March 5, 2012 at Parkview Haven Nursing Home, Deshler, Nebraska at the age of 98 years, 3 months and 16 days.
     She attended grade school at Narka, Ks., and she attended high school at Chester, Nebraska and graduated in 1933.    After school Lucille found employment serving as domestic help for families around the Narka community.
She was united in marriage to Dean I. Russell on February 18, 1936 and to this union two daughters and two sons were born, Nadine, Diane, Ivan, Alan.
     She was a life long member of Hubbell United Methodist Church and Chester United Methodist Church.   Served as sunday school superintendent and sunday school teacher.   United Methodist Women serving as president and secretary.  Member of Administrative Board and Ruth-Naomi Circle serving as secretary and chairperson.    She was a 4-H leader for 14 years.   Member of Chester Woman’s Club serving as president.  Charter member of Hubbell XX Extension Club.  Served on Nebraska Home Extension Council.   Member of Chester Better Homes Extension Club.     Chester Senior Center participant.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Minnie Mumm, husband, Dean I. Russell,  grandson, Ron Naysmith, son in law, Willis Naysmith, two brothers, Kenneth Mumm , Elvin Mumm, one sister, Iola Mumm.
     She is survived by two daughters, Nadine Naysmith and fiancé Ken Wilhite of Camarillo, California, Diane Holmes and her husband Elmer of Byron, Nebraska, two sons, Ivan Russell and his wife Elizabeth of Easton, Missouri, Alan Russell and his wife Mary of Osceola, Nebraska, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, one brother Willis Mumm and his wife Claribel of Geneva, Nebraska, one sister in law, Beth Mumm of Falls City, Nebraska, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
     Funeral services will be held Two PM, Saturday, March 10, 2012, United Methodist Church, Chester, Nebraska, conducted by, Pastor Mark Baldwin.
     Interment will be in Chester Cemetery, Chester, Nebraska.
     Memorials may be given to Chester United Methodist Church or Parkview Haven Nursing Home.
