She was also on the basketball team and was a very big KU Jayhawk Basketball fan. She adored Roy Williams, and even after he left KU for NC she always wanted to watch "Roy's Boys" play.

On October 3rd, 1951, she married Robert Walter Mutz, of Springfield, MO, and from that union three children were born; Randall Anthony, Matthew Trace, and Marta Gae.

For 25 years she worked in the billing departments for Jackson Motors, Moody Motors, Latimer Motors, and Galen Boyer in the Kansas City Metro Area. In 1976 they literally "sold the farm" in Buckner and bought the Best Western Thunderbird Motel in Ponca City, OK, eventually selling it in 1978, moved to Junction City, KS, where they owned and operated the Best Western Inn, Grandview Plaza, KS, retiring from the motel business in 1982. Marty and Bob were partners in Bob & Gene's Travel, Junction City. They loved to travel and spend time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

While living in Junction City Marty was a member of the Pilot Club International, Zeta Phi of E.S.A.Sorority, and the Isis Shrine Nomads. She was a member of the Oakland Methodist Church, Buckner, MO.

Marty was a true beauty, inside and out. She lit up the room when she entered and her smile would win you over. She handled everything with style and grace. She loved all of her family and had a very giving nature. In her eyes each and every family member was important and she always supported them in good times and bad. She will be truly missed by them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Emil (Sweet Springs, MO), sisters Carol Jean Kroeschen (Topeka, KS) and Rita Mae Singleton (Sweet Springs, MO). She has one surviving sister, Dorothy Yeagle (Blue Springs, MO).
