Obituary of Mildred M. Blecha

Mildred M. Blecha, was born in rural Morrowville, KS. on March 25, 1918, the daughter of Frank Zach Sr. and Maude (Nutsch) Zach. She went to see her Lord on June 22, 2015, at the age of 97 years, 2 months and 27 days.
Mildred graduated from Haddam High School, Haddam, KS and attended Kansas State University. She married her life partner Henry J. Blecha on November 8, 1941 and to this union four children were born.
Before becoming a farm wife and homemaker, Mildred taught in one room country schools. She and her husband Henry spent their life farming and had a grade A dairy nearly 30 years.
The last 30 years they were owner and operators of Evergreen Acres Campground.
Mildred was an active member of St. George’s Catholic Church, Munden, KS., women’s Altar Society, Catholic Workman, Liberty Rose Creek 4-H Leader, Excelsior FCE.
She and Henry drove many miles to dance to the big bands and later were regular square dancers. They took bus tours to several areas of the U.S. and enjoyed returning to Branson, Missouri to see their favorite performers. However the trip she most enjoyed speaking about was her Model A road trip with three other young teachers to tour the east coast in 1938.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maude Zach, husband, Henry J. Blecha, one daughter, Rita Blecha Sulzen, Three brothers, Frank, Harvey and Lawrence.
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Margaret) Blecha of Valley Center, KS., Kelvin (Marcia) Blecha of Chester, Nebraska, one daughter, Janice (Mark) Keeley of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, son in law, Richard Sulzen of Shawnee, KS., nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Ten AM, Friday, June 26, 2015, St. George’s Catholic Church, Munden, KS, conducted by, Father Brian Lager.
Vigil/Rosary service will be held 7 PM Thursday at Bachelor-Surber Chapel, Belleville, KS.
Interment will be in St. George’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Munden, KS.
Memorials may be given to St. George’s Catholic Church or St. George’s Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 PM to 9 PM, Thursday from 9 AM to 9 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS.
