Obituary of Patricia R. Kelly


Patricia Ruth Kelly, the daughter of Evart Bashor and Marguerite ( Smith)
Bashor, was born June 16, 1935 at Union Star, MO and passed away on Dec. 5, 2011at Belleville, KS at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 19 days.
Pat grew up in Independence, MO, attending the Chrisman High School and later the University of Kansas. On March 4, 1968 at the Concordia Lutheran Church, Concordia, MO, she was united in marriage to Silas Kelly. The couple made their home in Independence, MO for 10 years and in Shawnee, KS for 20 years.
Pat worked at the Kansas University Medical Center as a secretary for the Nuclear Medicine Department for many years. She also helped to establish the special needs pre- school: Susie J. C. School, serving special needs children ages two-first grade throughout the Kansas City Metro area for several years.
The couple later lived in Texas and Louisiana for a number of years, moving to Belleville, KS in 2005.
Pat was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Independence, MO where she was confirmed in 1956, the Hope Lutheran Church of Shawnee, KS for 20 years, and St. John Lutheran Church at Chester, NE. She was active in the League of Women Voters and the Nation Women’s Credit Club.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, and son Lawrence Kelly.
She is survived by her husband Silas Kelly of Belleville KS, children: Claudia (Walter)Trotter of Salt Lake City, UT; Melissa (John) Foxhoven of Lee’s Summit, MO; Anne Kelly of Salt Lake City, UT; and William Kelly of Lee’s Summit, MO; 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Cremation was chosen and Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, December, 9, 2011 at the Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Richard Gudgel, officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Sharp Cemetery, Maysville, MO.
There will be no visitation. Friends may sign the register and greet the family at the services on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Belleville Public Library.
