Obituary of Robert F. Didde


Robert Francis Didde was born October 17, 1923 to Frank J. and Clara (Strutzel) Didde at Nortonville, KS and passed away on February 27, 2016 at the age of 92 years, 4 months, and 10 days at Belleville, KS.
When he was two years old his parents moved to a farm near Olpe, KS where he attended school and as a young man farmed.
On October 25, 1952 he married LaDonna Breen of Miltonvale, KS at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Miltonvale. They farmed in the Miltonvale area and he also did odd jobs.
In September 1962 they moved to Belleville, KS where he was employed with NCK Electric Cooperative as an electrician for 5 ½ years after which he went into the electrical and TV sales and service business for himself, operating Didde TV & Electric with the help of his wife, LaDonna.
Robert was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council # 2609 and served as a lector at St. Edwards Catholic Church for many years. He was a member of the Republic County Czech Club and a member of a local card club
Robert was preceded in death by wife LaDonna, his parents and one brother-in-law Kenneth Scheetz.
He is survived by one son Mark and wife Dana of Longmont, CO two daughters Elaine and husband Dan Scanlon, Karen and husband Larry Dinsmore of Longmont, CO, Four grandchildren Christian Scanlon, Rose Scanlon, Shawn Didde and Tyler Didde, two brothers Arthur (Sally) Didde of Burnsville, MN, John (Sabrina Rasa) Didde of Overland Park, KS, three sisters Marcella (Howard) Anderson, Topeka, KS, Maybelle Scheetz, Topeka KS and Rosalie (Jim) Schetter of Tiffin, OH, other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Belleville, KS with Fr. Brian Lager, celebrant.
Interment will be at St. Katherine’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS.
A Vigil/Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS.
Visitation will be from One PM until 9PM on Thursday and from 9 AM until 9 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Church or St Katherine’s Catholic Cemetery Fund.
