Obituary of Robert W. Cottenmyre

Robert Wayne Cottenmyre, the son of Robert Edwin Cottenmyre(CPO-US Navy) and Phillis Marie (Beeson) Cottenmyre, was born July 10, 1962 at Emporia, KS and passed away on December 13, 2016 at the age of 54 years, 5 months, and 3 days.
Robert grew up in the Narka, KS area, graduating from Belleville High School in 1980. After graduation, he enlisted with the U. S. Navy, serving for 8 years until his honorable discharge on April 21, 1988. He served overseas on the USS Saipan and was station in the Mideast at the beginning of the Gulf War. He was an Aviation Support Equipment Specialist.
Following his discharge, he returned to the area and worked at John Deere Implement in Belleville and later MC Industries. In March of 1993, he started working at Mid America, Belleville, KS, working over 20 years and was still employed there at the time of this death.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Junior and Betty Beeson & Robert and Grace Cottenmyre, and his father, Robert E. Cottenmyre.
Robert is survived by his companion of 14 years, Madonna Spear of Scandia, KS; mother, Phillis M. (Bob) Bottger of Belleville, KS; sister, Teresa Manus of Jewell, KS; brother Michael (Stacie) Cottenmyre of Belleville, KS; Step-brother, Barry Bottger of Belleville, KS; sister, Karen (Shawn) Woolsey of Belleville, KS; sister Yvonne Cottenmyre of Belleville, KS; half-brother, John Cottenmyre of Rochester, NH; half-sister, Jennifer Rolle of Tampa, Florida; 2 step-sons, Blake (Lauren) Spear of Solomon, KS and Brett (Shanae) Spear of Scandia, KS; three step grandchildren; step-mother Charlotte Cottenmyre of Rochester, NH; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation was selected and memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, KS with Pastor Kathy Aeillo, officiating.
Inurnment will follow at the Liberty Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS with military graveside rites conducted by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard.
Friends may sign the book from 1 PM until 8 PM on Sunday at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, where the family will greet friends from 6 PM until 8 PM on Sunday.
