Obituary of Rodney D. Cline

Rodney Dean Cline, the son of Dean Lopshire Cline and Velma Lorene (Hill) Cline, was born April 2, 1949 at Salina, KS and passed away on July 15, 2014 at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS at the age of 65 years, 3 months, and 13 days.
Rodney grew up and attended the public schools of Formoso, KS and graduated from Mankato High School in 1967. He then attended Cloud County Community College, Concordia, KS for two years and one year at Ft. Hays St. University, Hays, KS.
He formed a partnership with his father, Dean L. Cline, doing custom harvesting in the summers and fall from Oklahoma to the Canadian border until Dean’s retirement. Rodney then was a truck driver for Swift Transportation from 2002 until his retirement in 2010. He had recently made his home in Formoso, KS.
He was a member of the volunteer fire department in Formoso. Rodney liked to hike and enjoyed the outdoors, especially Lovewell Lake.
In 2000, he was united in marriage to Sheila Elmore and to this union one son was born: Matthew Dean Cline.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents: Dean and Velma Cline, and his brother-in-law: Jay Dikkers.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Sheila Cline; one son Matthew Cline; one sister; Leilani Dikkers; other relatives and friends.
Cremation was selected and private family services will be held at a later date.
