Obituary of Rose B. Sterba

Rose B. Sterba, daughter of Frank Spurney and Barbara (Ledvinka) Spurney was born October 16, 1910 at Belleville, Ks and passed away on March 8, 2013 at Republic County Long Term Care, Belleville, Ks at the age of 102 years, 4 months and 22 days.
Rose attended Eureka School and graduated from Belleville High School. She was united in marriage to Frank L. Sterba on April 19, 1933 and to this union two children were born, Francis and Barbara.
Rose was a farm wife and homemaker. She was a member of St. George’s Catholic Church, Munden, Ks, altar society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Barbara Spurney, husband, Frank L. Sterba, three brothers, Joe, Frank, Jerry, sister, Mary Brosh, twin sister, Anne Rundus.
She is survived by one son, Francis Sterba of Tonganoxie, Ks, one daughter, Barbara Newcomb and Gary Lightfoot of Linwood, Ks, five grandchildren, niece and nephew, Larry and Leora Rundus of rural Belleville, Ks, many other nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Ten Thirty AM, Tuesday, March 12, 2013, St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Belleville, Ks, conducted by Fr. Barry Brinkman and Fr. George Kalampatt.
Vigil/Rosary service will be held at 7 PM Monday at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Ks.
Interment will be in St. Katherine’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Belleville, Ks
Memorials may be given to St. Katherine’s Catholic Cemetery Fund.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 PM to 9 PM, Monday from 9 AM to 9 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Ks
