Shirley D. Fry


Shirley D. Fry, daughter of William Earl Delcamp and Wilma Zoe (Durst) Delcamp was born May 17, 1931 at Minneapolis, Kansas and was called home by the Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 14 days.
She attended Minneapolis High School and graduated in 1949. She was a graduate of the Asbury School of Nursing class of 1952 and became a staff nurse at both the Belleville Hospital and the Concordia Hospital following her training.
In 1964 she began a career at the Republic County Health Department covering a span of 20 years, later moving to a position at the St Joseph Medical Center in Concordia
She married Karl D Fry on September 11, 1952 in Minneapolis, KS.
Of this union came three daughters, Linda Fry , Carol Fry and Diane Fry .
She was a dedicated member of Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron, District Aide, and Grand Representative
She was a member of the Central Christian Church, where she was a part of the Lydia Circle and was instrumental in the creation of the Children’s Church. She was the Primary Superintendent of the Sunday School, and was the director of Vacation Bible School and the Church Choir for several years.
She served as a member of the Manhattan Christian College Advisory Board as well as a part of the LIFT Program for MCC. She also served as the King Solomon Christian Camp Nurse on many occasions.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Earl Delcamp and Wilma Zoe Delcamp as well as her brothers Lyle Delcamp, and Irvin Delcamp.
She is survived by her husband Karl D. Fry, their three daughters, Linda Fry (Steve) Henningsen of Salina, Ks, Carol Fry (Michael) Moon of Aurora, Ill, Diane Fry (Kevin) Anderson of Chino Valley, AZ, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, and a great great step grandchild.
She is also survived by her sister, Marylin Rolph, and numerous nieces and nephews spanning four generations.
Heaven has a new angel walking the streets of glory.
Funeral services will be held Ten AM, Thursday, September 5, 2013, Central Christian Church, Belleville, Ks, conducted by, Pastor Mark Imel.
Interment will be made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Belleville, Ks
Memorials may be given to Central Christian Church, Belleville, Ks.
Friends may call Tuesday from 1 PM to 9 PM, Wednesday from 9 AM to 9 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Ks
