Obituary of Stephen H. “Steve” Martin

Stephen H. “Steve” Martin, son of Robert James (Harold) Martin and Helen A. McFarland Martin was born October 4, 1936 at Mount Clare, Nebr and passed away on May 17, 2014 at his home, rural Belleville, Ks at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 13 days.
He attended Nuckolls County rural school district and graduated from Superior High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Lora Tarkowski on January 31, 1969. He was an Electrician for 45 years and worked for Farmland Foods in Crete, Nebraska for 15 years, Produce Farmer and Farmers Market Vendor.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, Ks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Martin, one son, Gregory A. Martin, son in law, Rick Johanson, one sister, Elaine Karnes, one brother, Richard Martin, mother and father in law, Bernard and Helen Tarkowski.
He is survived by his wife, Lora Martin of rural Belleville, Ks, two daughters, Christine Johanson of Superior, Nebr., Stephenie (Clayton) Doeschot of Panama, Nebr., two sons, Stephen E. Martin of Superior, Nebr., Michael C. (Julie) Martin of Bremen, Ks., 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, one sister, Virginia Rhoads of Superior, Nebr., other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Two PM, Tuesday, May 20, 2014, Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Ks, conducted by, Pastor Mark Imel.
Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Ks.
Memorials may be given to Family Choice.
Friends may call on Monday from 9 AM to 9 PM, Tuesday 9 AM to 2 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 PM to 7 PM Monday evening.
