Obituary of Stuart O. Sutton

Stuart Ormand Sutton, son of Raymond C. Sutton and Isis (Hudson) Sutton was born November 20, 1936 at Ithaca, New York and passed away on November 28, 2012 in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 76 years and 8 days.

Stuart was united in marriage to Carole Alice Kreydle on October 28, 1962 at the United Methodist Church in Chester, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Sonja and Linda.

He was a lifetime resident of Hubbell and Chester communities and received his education at Rural District 73, Hubbell, Hebron, and Chester, Nebraska.

Growing up on the family farm Stuart raised and showed Polled Shorthorn cattle and also farmed with his three uncles, the Hudson Bros. He learned to fly in Ithaca, New York at a young age during the summers of 1952 and 1953. In the summer of 1955 Stuart began his own aerial spraying business on the family farm. After marrying Carole, they incorporated the business to Chester Spray Inc. in 1968 which they ran for over 50 years. He drove transport for Peake Inc. during the winter seasons. Stuart began as Fixed Based Operator at the Belleville Airport in 1969. He worked as a salesman for State Line Auto in Chester, Nebraska from 1986 to 2008.

Stuart was a member of the following: United Methodist Church of Chester, Nebraska; Polled Shorthorn Assn.; Nebraska Used Car Dealer Assn.; Belleville Flyers Inc.; Nebraska Aerial Applicator Assn.; Kansas Aerial Applicator Assn.; and served on the Thayer County Zoning Board. He was a member of the Belleville and Concordia, KS Elks Lodges until they dissolved then transferring to the Superior Elks #2197 of Superior, NE. He was an Elks member for 53 years. Besides flying, Stuart loved auto racing, fishing, tractor shows, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and supporting the 99s (lady pilots).

Stuart is survived by his wife of the home Carole A. Sutton of Chester, Nebraska; two daughters Sonja Burns and Carl of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Linda Sutton and Eric Nutsch of Chester, Nebraska; grandchildren Robby Marsh and Natalie of Belvidere, Nebraska; Derick Burns of Bokchito, Oklahoma, and Justin Burns of Chester, Nebraska. Other grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous family members, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Isis Sutton and three uncles, the Hudson Bros.

Funeral services will be held Ten Thirty AM, Saturday, December 1, 2012, First United Methodist Church, Chester, Nebraska, conducted by Pastor Mark Baldwin. Interment will be in Chester Cemetery, Chester, NE. Graveside services by Superior Elks Lodge #2197.
