Obituary of Velma M. Breeding

Velma Margaret Breeding, daughter of William Leseberg and Minnie (Bandick) Leseberg was born August 4, 1918 at rural Hanover, Kansas and passed away on March 23, 2012 at Republic County Long Term Care, Belleville, Kansas at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 19 days.
Velma grew up in Herkimer, Kansas and graduated from Marysville High School. She was united in marriage to Warren B. Breeding on October 27, 1939 and to this union three children were born, Vicki, Pamela and Steven. Their married life was spent on a farm east of Brantford, KS., where they were both active in Zion Lutheran Church and helped found the Brantford 4-H Club. Velma belonged to the Order of Eastern Star in Clyde KS. and Belleville, KS., Tri-L Club , Lutheran Church Women and Starlight Study Group of Belleville, KS. She was a
4-H advisor, EHU, Helping Hand Club and Bethany Board Member. She enjoyed gardening and mowed her own yard into her early 80’s in Belleville, KS., (where she resided for 19 years) and helped students in the “After School Program”. In addition to her love for her church, she was a keen card player, having grown up playing Pinochle and until 6 months ago played Solitare daily. Velma was a self taught excellent seamstress and 5th generation, German decent in USA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Leseberg, husband, Warren B. Breeding, one sister, Adella, one brother, Willis, brother in law, William Morrow, son in law, George Bryson.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Bryson of Toronto, Canada, Pamela Fuzzey and her husband Timothy of Minneapolis, MN., one son, Steven Breeding and special friend Karla of Concordia, KS., 6 grandchildren, Todd (Jennifer) Fuzzey of Minneapolis, MN., Sheila Bryson of San Francisco, CA., Karin (Gil) Junge, Minneapolis, MN., Hannah (Shane) Langston of Courtland, KS., Karas Breeding and partner Beth & Brayden of Clyde, KS., Jordan Breeding of Manhattan ,KS., 6 great grandchildren, Conner & Nolan Fuzzey, Charlie Junge, Kinzie, Khloe and Warren Langston, one sister, Florence Morrow of Villa Park, California., sister in law, Ruth Leseberg of John’s Island, South Carolina, caretakers and friends, Marge Walker of Belleville, KS., Terry Jelinek of Munden, KS., other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held, Ten Thirty AM, Saturday, March 31, 2012, Zion Lutheran Church, rural Clyde, Kansas, conducted by, Pastor Timothy Fuzzey and Pastor Tom Sahl.
Graveside services will be Two PM, Saturday, March 31, 2012,Marysville Cemetery, Marysville, Kansas.
Friends may call Thursday and Friday from 9 AM to 9 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas. The family will receive friends at Zion Lutheran Church, Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM.
