Obituary of Viola A. White

Viola A. White, daughter of Diedrick Koester and Helena Collman Koester was born August 5, 1915 at rural Chester, Nebraska and passed away on December 22, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, Abilene, Kansas at the age of 97 years, 9 months and 17 days.
Viola graduated from Newton, Kansas High School in 1929. She was united in marriage to Virgil J. White on April 20, 1932 at Concordia, Ks and to this union three daughters were born, Phyllis, Barbara and Peggy. She worked part time with her husband Virgil in Whites Radio Shop. She later worked as a Nurses Aid at Republic County Hospital and then at Duckwalls as a clerk for 12 years. She was an excellent seamstress and took in sewing in her home for many years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Belleville, Kansas, a 68 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, past presidents club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil J. White, one daughter, Barbara Goetzinger, one grandson, one great grandson, two brothers, three sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Lynn of Hays, Ks., Peggy Sorensen and her husband Robert of Abilene, Ks., son in law, Ron Goetzinger of Augusta, Ks, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one brother, Eugene Koester of Beatrice, Nebr, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Ten Thirty, AM, Wednesday, December 26, 2012, First United Methodist Church, Belleville, Ks, conducted by, Pastor Emily Meckley
Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.
